Indiegogo is a Scam

Before signing up to make a campaign on Indiegogo, consider the following!

Indiegogo is being nationally recognized as the top site you can donate to.  Please understand they are a shady business, taking funds from you and I'll explain what is happening now.

People have created accounts, like myself.  These accounts are for donation help from existing viewers or someone who may stumble onto the project's cause.  They will allow your campaign to run through and they take a % of each transaction given.

Now Indiegogo says they do take the % after the campaign is done, but this is not true.  They take the money and I have PayPal receipts showing it.  The image is that receipt,
clearly showing they are taking a % for each transaction even before the campaign ends.

They say they do NOT touch the money given until the campaign ends but they have been taking it all along.

Indiegogo has staff member sock accounts that create causes for recent events in order for them to gain funds for it.  Since they run the site, they control the money flow.  There is no doubt in my mind that Indiegogo creates causes, and takes all the profits from it.

There are some users who think they can create an account and get THOUSANDS of dollars for their campaign, when in reality it is Indiegogo who creates the ones you see that have thousands of dollars.  They keep it ALL.

Everyone please stop using Indiegogo and find a more legit company.  If you want your money do not use it ad do not rely on Indiegogo.

VIRUS WARNING.  Indiegogo is a mailing list.  When you sign-up for your own campaign you are put on an international e-mail list.  This e-mail list is SOLD to companies that will spam you.  You will not know Indiegogo is the one that sold your e-mail address because they never tell you.  But if you notice and increase in spam after using their services, this is why.

I have proven that they take money out of the funds BEFORE the campaign ends.  I have proven they terminate legit accounts and take the money it had, without a reason for it.  It is up to you to listen to what I have said and DO NOT DO BUSINESS ON THEIR SITE.

    1. You do realize they give you the OPTION, not the "You do this or else" message.

  2. On http://www.scamadviser.com/ the indiegogo site rated as 'High Trust Rating'. You just have a grudge against them probably for the reason that you did not raise all the money for your own campaign you've hoped for. But it is not indiegogo fault.

  4. Scam is not a Virus.
They take the money to ensure they will be able to pay the founds when a campaign is done.
I am know which community some of the most founded projects are from, they are definitely not fake.
They maybe use the money to pay auctions in some other company, most of "money-moving" organizations do that, but if it works, I don't see why it's wrong, the day they can't pay or refound a project, they will be over.

  6. they seem to have no compunction about funding scam/shady projects. I wouldn't advise using them.

  7. Just saying something does not constitute PROOF in my books. Prove even one of your accusations and people may take you more seriously but most people see a rant for a rant.

BTW, that PayPal screenshot proves NOTHING.

    1. rreeve, well said. I was thinking the exact same thing. Not only was nothing proven. There was not ANY evidence provided to support the claims.

    2. I thought the same thing about this not really proving anything. If you read the types of campaigns the offer the Flexible type which enables you to keep all donations even if you don't reach your goal. It also states that PayPal has fees also and must collect for each transaction, so maybe that's what is going on. You only get the all money (if Flexible type) once the campaign is complete and if the goal is reached in a Fixed campaign. Maybe this is a Flexible campaign and the arrangement is to pay PayPal on each donation and then your contributions will be paid after the campaign is complete. I'd be curious what the final outcome is after the campaign is complete.

  8. If you want to beat a dog there are many sticks lying around. Indiegogo is regulated by US legislation and they make sure they comply. This type of negative advertising campaign you bring to the table only foster the view that you failed, nobody else. In business those who fail have the most complaints about a system. You sound more like a VC or and Investment banker who would like to see Crowd funding fail for their own future job security. Do not make crowd funding into a black picture, it won;t fail.

  9. I feel pitty for those donating I dont need to know much details cuz everything seems so obvious, people making money out of people good heart & stupidity, want to donate? make sure u giving it to the right person or else u doing the exact opposite of what u want to do, and u helping evil people to get rich in other words u helping the world to be a worst place. And about some of those doing campaings try to spend more time making good products that people want to buy and make people happy and less time crying and begging for money.

  10. Well I do need help and I am honest. I just started my account felling like I have no where to turn . Don't think u r better because u have money. We r all brothers and sisters. I don't want to see anyone suffer. It's easy to say don't help when u don't need help. I hope this does work because I need it right now .

  14. I enjoy contributing to a creative business but feel betrayed when donating to a company that ignores a contributor. Besides the fact that there is no clear way to contact anyone at Indiegogo, the limited options of help questions are surrounded by how we can throw money at you. If this company has any decency it would respond to this post and assist me with the question I wish to pose.

  21. I gave my credit card number to purchase a parking sensor and app with reverse monitor for my card. These scumbags call it a donation to a crowd-funding platform, owned by their friends. Notify your state's attorney general's office, as I will, so that this outfit can be put on a don't do it warning in every state in America. Do NOT give these bastards a penny They pretend to provide a product, then call it a donation and keep your money. Even American Express bought into their defense and denied my attempt to kill the purchase. Beware.
